The email I've been avoiding writing

Hello, my loves.

If you've been anywhere near my Substack or Medium this past week, you've probably noticed something: I cannot stop writing.

Grief will do that I suppose - a deep need to figure it all out, too.

I have been back in Indiana, in the wake of losing one of my best friends, and the words have been pouring out of me — not because I'm disciplined, not because I have a content calendar (maybe I should, but I don't), but because I NEED it.

Writing is how I metabolize what's moving through me. It's how I find out what I actually feel. It is, and has always been, my medicine.

And I believe — truly, down to my bones — that it's yours too. You just may not have picked it up yet.

Here's everything since my last newsletter:

Go read them. Not because they're mine — because somewhere in there, you'll find a doorway into something of yours.

Now. Let's talk about something I usually dance around because pricing your work is scary.

The Memoir Method is $997.

That's a lot of money. I know it is. I'm a divorced mother of three — I don't spend $997 without sitting with it, and I would never ask you to. So instead of hoping you don't notice the price, I want to be more direct and tell you exactly why it costs what it costs, and why I believe it's worth every dollar.

Why it costs this much:

Because it isn't a writing course. It's five Acts: The Container, Excavation, Illumination, Integration, and Legacy — twenty modules, plus three full Practice Modules on nervous system regulation, somatic movement, and parts work, plus a bonus reparenting module.

It is shadow work with a writing methodology, and I have not found another memoir program anywhere that goes to this depth in the body AND on the page.

Because of what it took to build.

This method wasn't assembled from a marketing template. It came out of my master's degree in creative writing, my 700+ hours of trauma-informed training, my own memoirs — and honestly, out of the hardest years of my life.

Everything I've been writing about this week? The grief, the homecoming, the mirror? THIS is the method I'm using to move through it, in real time, in front of you. You're not buying information. You're buying a lived, tested process.

Because your story deserves a real container.

We happily pay for the things we've been taught count as "real" — and I want you to see this next to those things. $997 is roughtly 5 or 6 therapy sessions. It's a fraction of one semester of an MFA. A ghostwriter would charge you fifteen thousand dollars or more to write your story FOR you — and then it still wouldn't be in your voice, and it wouldn't have healed a thing.

Working with me one-on-one is $2,500 a month. The Memoir Method is less than that — once — for lifetime access to everything, at your own pace, forever.

And why it's worth it:

Because the unwritten chapters don't stay quietly in the past. They run your life from underneath — your relationships, your patterns, your body. You already know this. You've felt it.

The Memoir Method is how you finally write them down, metabolize them, and take the pen back. That's not a $997 outcome. That's a whole-different-life outcome.

I built this so that the depth of work I do with private clients would be within reach for those who need it most.

And there's one more reason — and it's the most honest one of all:

You honor what you pay for.

I've watched it over and over, in myself and in everyone I've worked with. The free PDF sits unopened. The $27 course collects dust. But the thing you truly invested in? You show up for it.

Not because of guilt but because the investment itself is a declaration. It's you telling your own nervous system: I am worth this, and I am DOING this.

And this work takes real showing up. Excavation is not a bubble bath. If the price were cheap, I know exactly what would happen — you'd buy it, you'd mean to start, and your story would stay unwritten. I refuse to price this in a way that makes it easy to abandon yourself one more time.

One more thing — for the woman thinking "I don't want to do this alone."

I see you. And if what's holding you back isn't the work itself but the thought of walking into your story without someone beside you — then the self-paced course may not be your door. The Rewrite might be.

The Rewrite is my year-long cohort, opening in September. Weekly live sessions with me, daily community, real feedback on your manuscript, and an in-person retreat to cap the year. It's the Memoir Method with my hands on it the whole way through — you, held, in a circle of women doing the same brave thing.

Yes, the investment is significantly higher. It's application only, and it's not for everyone. But if you're the person who knows she needs to be held through it — even then, ESPECIALLY then — it's worth it.

Invest in you. You've spent your whole life investing in everyone else.

Reply to this email with the word REWRITE and I'll send you the details personally.

Enroll in The Memoir Method or Join The Caim Circle for monthly coaching for only 33 dollars a month. Now THAT I know is affordable!

If you're on the fence, reply to this email. Ask me anything. I'm an open book — you know that by now.

Your story is already talking to you. Come learn to listen.

All my love, Jessa

P.S. — If the timing isn't right, keep reading the free work. That's why it's there. But if something in you leaned forward when you read "unwritten chapters"... that's the part of you I built this for.

Hello friends! Guess what!? It's my birthday! I'm 41 years young today and celebrating! Today... I am opening these doors on my birthday — and that is not an accident. For most of my life I celebrated myself quietly, carefully, making sure I didn't take up too much space or ask for too much. This year I'm marking another trip around the sun by launching the most meaningful work of my life and inviting you to be part of it. If there is one thing this work has taught me, it's that we don't have...
